Kundasang

Kundasang is a village in district of Ranau, Sabah, Borneo that lies along the bank of Kundasang Valley. It is located about 6 kilometres away from Kinabalu National Park, 12 kilometres from Ranau town and is renowned for its vegetable market which is open seven days a week. It is the closest village to Mount Kinabalu and has a panoramic view of the Mountain. It is populated mainly by the native Dusun and a very small population of Chinese people. Almost all the shops are operated by locals.

Mesilau

Mesilau, named after Mesilau River, is an area situated at approximately 2000 m above sea level on the East Ridge of Mount Kinabalu in Kinabalu National Park, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. It is the site of the Mesilau Nature Resort, which is owned and operated by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. Mesilau is home to the only population of Nepenthes rajah pitcher plants accessible to regular visitors. The plants grow on a steep hillside overlooking Mesilau East River. Crocker Range

Crocker Range (Banjaran Crocker in Malay), is a mountain range on the island of Borneo. Politically, it is within the boundary of the Malaysian state of Sabah, located in the northern half of Borneo. It is named after W.M. Crocker. The mountain range separates the east coast and west coast of Sabah. At an average height of 1800m, it is the highest mountain range in Sabah. Mount Kinabalu, which is one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia is part of this range.

Pig Hill (Mount Kinabalu)

Pig Hill is an ultramafic area situated at approximately 2000 m above sea level on the southeastern side of Mount Kinabalu in Kinabalu National Park, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. It is located to the east of Mesilau, some 4 hours' walk from the Mesilau Nature Resort. A number of pitcher plant species are found on Pig Hill, including N.  burbidgeae (1900–1950 m), N.  rajah (1950–2320 m), and the natural hybrid between the two, N.  × alisaputrana (1930–1950 m).

Rafflesia Forest Reserve

The Rafflesia Forest Reserve covers an area of 356 ha of Tambunan district, Sabah, Malaysia. It was established in 1984 by the Sabah Forestry Department to protect the Rafflesia flowers abundant in the area. The Rafflesia Information Centre, located directly along the road from Kota Kinabalu to Tambunan, is the main touristical target within the reserve. Several sites of Rafflesia pricei are reachable from the centre on hiking trails.
