Maxwell, New Zealand

Maxwell is a farming and lifestyle community 20 km west of Whanganui in the North Island of New Zealand. Maxwell was first settled in the mid-1800s. Itoffers a range of activities to do, such as the local art gallery (Black Sands Studio), the church, swimming pool and the newly renovated Birch Park Pool, which is situated on the Taranaki side of the Maxwell district. The Maxwell population recorded in 2006 was 1,494 people with females out numbering males 762 to 720.

Waitotara School

Waitotara School is a small state primary school situated in the rural village of Waitotara, located between Wanganui and Hawera, New Zealand on State Highway 3. The school sits on the banks of the Waitotara River, 47 km south of Ngamatapouri, and was fully refurbished after devastating floods in 2004. These floods destroyed much of the interior of the school buildings as well as furniture and equipment, while many homes in the small community of Waitotara were also badly damaged.

Waitotara River

The Waitotara River in New Zealand's North Island stretches approximately 100km in length from its headwaters in the Matemateaonga Ranges to its mouth on the South Taranaki Bight. The river takes in significant tributaries such as the Ngutuwera, Makakaho, Pokeka, Omaru and Totara Streams.

Faith Academy (New Zealand)

Faith Academy is a state-integrated primary school in New Zealand. With a roll of around 150 students Faith Academy is the largest inter-denominational school in the Wanganui area. Teaching the New Zealand state curriculum from a Christian perspective, the school caters for students from New Entrants (Year 0) to Year 8. The school was established and is still owned by Faith City Church (formerly Faith Community Church), a local Assemblies of God in New Zealand church.
