Bontoc, Southern Leyte

Bontoc is a 4th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27,592 people in 5,363 households. The name “Bontoc” is derived form an old creek called Bontoc creek near the present Roman Catholic Cemetery where old “pueblo” called Daan Lungsod existed during the early Spanish regime. Before the coming of the Spaniards, Bontoc was then a total wilderness where few aborigines lived and wild animals roamed.

Sogod, Southern Leyte

The Municipality of Sogod is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. Established in 1700, Sogod was incorporated as a municipality in June 10, 1853. The name of the municipality was originated from the Cebuano word, sogod, meaning "to start" and known as one of the few indigenous settlements established before the Spanish Colonization. It has a total population of 42,460 inhabitants in 8,342 households, according to the 2010 census.

Saint Thomas Aquinas College (Sogod)

Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) is a Roman Catholic private school located at the corner between Bagares Street and Concepcion Street, Barangay Zone IV, Sogod, Southern Leyte, Philippines. It is considered one of the oldest schools in Southern Leyte, serving the community since January 6, 1946. One of its sister schools are the Saint Teresa School of Hilongos (STSH) and Saint Anthony's High School (SAHS) of Anahawan.

Bato, Leyte

Bato is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. It borders with the municipality of Matalom and the city of Maasin in the south, Hilongos in the north, and Bontoc and Sogod. It is also the center of commerce and trade. Bato was one of the center highways in Leyte. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 37,286 people.
