Krosno

Krosno (in full The Royal Free City of Krosno, Polish: Królewskie Wolne Miasto Krosno; Ukrainian: Коросно, Korosno; German: Krossen) is a town and county in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland with 47,455 inhabitants, as of 2 June 2009. Notably Krosno is the site of the first oil well (or "mine") in the world. Krosno is a medieval fortified town, a former Royal Free Town, a centre of cloth, linen, canvas, baize and Hungarian wine trade. Until recently it was a provincial capital.
