It is composed of four villages: Clejani, Neajlovu, Podu Doamnei and Sterea. The commune is famous for its lăutari or gypsy musicians, especially the group Taraful Haiducilor (a.k.a. Taraf de Haïdouks) and members of the group Mahala Raï Banda.
