Gârda de Sus

Gârda de Sus is a commune located in Alba County, Romania. It has a population of 1,865, and is composed of seventeen villages: Biharia, Dealu Frumos, Dealu Ordâncușii, Dobrești, Gârda de Sus, Gârda Seacă, Ghețari, Hănășești, Huzărești, Izvoarele, Munună, Ocoale, Plai, Pliști, Scoarța, Snide and Sucești. The main village of the comune is located 30 km northwest of Câmpeni. It houses a wooded church built in 1792 with naive paintings inside.

Bihor Mountains

Bihor Mountains is a mountain range in western Romania. It is part of the Apuseni Mountains, which are part of the Carpathian Mountains. The massif has a length of 25 km from the northwest to the southeast and a width of 14 km. It is located east of the town Ştei, and north of the town Brad. The highest peak is Curcubăta Mare, with an altitude 1,849 m the highest of the Apuseni Mountains. Other high peaks are Buteasa (1,790 m), Cârligatele (1,694 m) and Piatra Grăitoare (1,658 m).
