Mosalsk is a town and the administrative center of Mosalsky District of Kaluga Oblast, Russia, located 82 kilometers west of Kaluga. Population: 4,288; 4,380; 4,610. First attested in 1231 as Masalsk (Масальск), it became the center of one of the Upper Oka Principalities in the 14th century.

The area of the district is 1,320 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the town of Mosalsk. Population: 9,094; 10,357; 11,537. Serpeysk

Serpeysk is a village in Meshchovsky District of Kaluga Oblast, Russia, located on the Serpeyka River. It was first noted in 1406 as a military fort on the boundary between Muscovy and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the town changed hands several times. It was definitively incorporated into Muscovite Russia after the Smolensk War in 1634. Once stripped of its garrison, the town dwindled into oblivion.
