Chukhloma
Chukhloma is a town and the administrative center of Chukhlomsky District of Kostroma Oblast, Russia, located on Lake Chukhloma, 50 kilometers from the railway node Galich and 171 kilometers northeast of Kostroma. Population: 5,411; 5,464; 5,597. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 1381, and was destroyed during the Time of Troubles. It was granted town status in 1778. Near the town there is a historical family estate of the Lermontov family.

Galich transmitter
The Galich transmitter is an unfinished facility for FM and TV broadcasting near Galich in Russia at 58°26'27"N 42°37'43"E. The 350 metres tall antenna tower was built in 1991 as a lattice steel structure with square cross section, guyed in 4 directions. However, the nearby transmitter building remains unfinished. The mast of the Galich transmitter may in spite of its height not carry any workable air-traffic obstacle lights. It is the tallest never used man-made structure in Europe.

Chukhloma Lake is a freshwater lake in Kostroma Oblast in Russia. It is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:58|47|N|42|37|E|type:waterbody_region:RU|| | |name= }}, at an altitude of 148 meters above sealevel. It has an area of 48.7 km², and an average depth of 4.5 meters. The lake is almost circular in shape, with a diameter of 6–7 km. The shores are flat and boggy. The bottom consists of mud and silt. It is frozen from late October to late April.
