Kazinka is a village in Gryazinsky District of Lipetsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Matyrskoye Reservoir (formerly a part of the Matyra River) at its confluence with the Kazinchenka Spring (former Kazinka River). Kazinka was settled by the peasants of the town of Romanov (modern village of Lenino) in the second half of the 17th century. Historically, the village is divided into eight areas: Vygon, Kislyaki, Manezh, Moskovka, Podkamennoye, Svirkin Poryadok, Khutor, and Sikalovka.

Gryazinsky District is an administrative and municipal district, one of the eighteen in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,440 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the town of Gryazi. Population: 75,159; 73,622; 26,821. The population of Gryazi accounts for 62.3% of the district's total population.

Gryazi

Gryazi is a town and the administrative center of Gryazinsky District of Lipetsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Matyra River 30 kilometers southeast of Lipetsk. Population: 46,807; 47,478; 47,458. It was founded in the second half of the 19th century as a settlement around the Gryazi railway station, which was opened in 1868. Town status was granted to it in 1938.

Matyra River

Matyra is a river in Tambov and Lipetsk Oblasts of Russia. It is a left tributary of the Voronezh River (in the Don's drainage basin), and has a length of 180 km and a drainage basin of 5,180 km². The average discharge 39 km from its mouth is 11.7 m³/s. The town of Gryazi is situated by the Matyra River. A reservoir was created on the river in 1976.

Battle of Lipitsa

The Battle of Lipitsa was the decisive battle in the succession struggle over the Grand Princely throne of Vladimir-Suzdal following the death of Vsevolod the Big Nest. In the battle, fought on April 22, 1216, the forces of Mstislav the Daring and Konstantin Vsevolodovich defeated those of Konstantin's younger brothers Yuri Vsevolodovich and Yaroslav. Konstantin took the throne of Vladimir and reigned as grand prince until his death two years later.
