Shukhov tower in Polibino

The Shukhov tower in Polibino is the World's first diagrid hyperboloid structure designed in 1896 by Russian engineer and architect Vladimir Shukhov. The tower is located in the former estate of Yury Nechaev-Maltsov in the selo of Polibino in Lipetsk Oblast in Russia. Vladimir Shukhov invented hyperboloid towers and was also the first one to use them in construction.

Polibino is a rural locality in Dankovsky District of Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of Polibinsky Selsoviet, one of the fifteen selsoviets into which the district is administratively divided. Municipally, it is the administrative center of Polibinskoye Rural Settlement.

Kulikovo Field

Kulikovo Field (Russian: Куликово поле, or Kulikovo Pole; lit. "snipes' field") is a field in Tula Oblast in Russia, where the famous Battle of Kulikovo took place on September 8 of 1380. As established by Stepan Nechayev, the battlefield is located between the rivers of Nepryadva, Krasivaya Mecha, and Don some 140 km away from Tula and 23 km away from the Kulikovo Pole railway station.
