Voronezh River

Voronezh is a river in Tambov, Lipetsk, and Voronezh Oblasts in Russia, a left tributary of the Don. The Voronezh River is 342 km in length. The area of its drainage basin is 21,600 km². It freezes up in the first half of December and stays under the ice until late March. The lower reaches of the river are navigable. The cities of Lipetsk and Voronezh are located on the Voronezh River.

Voronezh Malshevo

Voronezh Malshevo (also Malshevo, Mal'shevo, Voronezh Southwest, Baltimore) is an air base in Russia located 7 km southwest of Voronezh. Up until late 2009 it was the home of the 105th Composite Aviation Division and 455th Bomber Aviation Regiment, both with 16th Air Army/Special Purpose Command, the air forces command of the Moscow Military District. Voronezh State University

Voronezh State University is one of the main universities in Central Russia. The university was founded in 1918, when some staff, students and property from the University of Tartu were transferred by the Soviet government because of the German occupation of Estonia. The university has 17 departments and an enrollment of 21,000 students from Russia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia.

Voronezh Governorate

Voronezh Governorate (Russian: Воронежская губерния, Voronezhskaya guberniya) was an administrative division of the Russian Empire, which existed from 1725 until 1779 and from 1796 until 1928. Its seat was located in Voronezh. The governorate was located in the south of the European part of the Russian Empire. In 1928, the governorate was abolished, and its area was included into newly established Central Black Earth Oblast.

Central Black Earth Oblast (Russian: Центрально-Чернозёмная область, Tsentralno-Chernozyomnaya Oblast) was an oblast (a first-level administrative and municipal unit) of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1928 to 1934. Its seat was in the city of Voronezh. The oblast was located in the center of European Russia, and its territory is currently divided between Voronezh, Oryol, Kursk, Belgorod, Lipetsk, and Tambov Oblasts, as well as a minor part of Penza Oblast.
