The Kolubara District (Serbian: Колубарски округ, Kolubarski okrug) occupies the central part of western Serbia. It has a population of 174,228. The administrative centre of the Kolubara District is Valjevo, on the banks of the Kolubara River.

Gradac (river)

The Gradac is a river in western Serbia, a tributary of the Kolubara. It cuts a canyon in south-north direction with a length of 22.7 km. Its measured water course has a length of about 28 km and a total drop of 187 m. The source of the river Gradac is situated at the foot of the Povlen mountain. The Gradac river gorge, with its source tributaries, the special characteristics and the degree of preservation, is one of the less well known natural values of Serbia.

Tešnjar

Tešnjar is the old quarter of the city of Valjevo, in Serbia. It originated in the 19th century and was a long time trade center, located on the right bank of Kolubara. It consists of one street that follows the Kolubara river course and several smaller streets below the hill. The name is probably received after the tight streets. Tešnjar has become famous lately due to Serbian cinema.

Valjevo Gymnasium

Valjevo Gymnasium (Valjevska gimnazija in Serbian) is a public secondary education school located in Valjevo (Valjevo High School). It was first founded in 1870. For the first two years it had only two grades.

Ćelije Monastery

The Ćelije Monastery is a Serbian Orthodox monastery. It is located by the Gradac river, on the 6th km from the town of Valjevo, Serbia. It was founded in the late 13th century. Today, monastery is surrounded with tall trees, so cannot be seen from far. It is best known by being the monastery of saint Justin Popović, (1894 — 1979), who was canonized by the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2010.
