Edendale Hospital, established in 1954, is a 900-bed regional and district hospital in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), South Africa, operated by the KZN Department of Health. Polly Shortts

Polly Shortts is a hill on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Polly Shortts is named after a farmer who lived nearby, and whose help was often sought when after heavy rain, the road up the hill became muddy and impassable. Polly Shortts is now famous because it is located on the route of the famous 90 km ultramarathon, the Comrades Marathon.

Pietermaritzburg Italian P.O.W. Church

The Pietermaritzburg Italian P.O.W. Church is a provincial heritage site in Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. In 1977 it was described in the Government Gazette as The church was erected in 1944 by Italian prisoners of war of Camp 4, situated in the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg, and is still used by the Italian community. It is closely associated with the history of the Italian community in South Africa.
