Guadaíra

The Guadaíra is a river that runs through the province of Seville, in Andalusia, southern Spain. Its name contains the same guad root as the much larger Rio Guadalquivir, coming from the Arabic word wadi, meaning "river valley". The river runs through the town of Alcalá de Guadaíra in the Seville's metropolitan area. The upper river watershed is from the land to the east and south-east of the town, it proceeds through the town and joins the Guadalquivir to the south of Seville.

Isla Mayor is a municipality located in the province of Seville, Spain. According to the 2006 census, the municipality, which has an area of 114 km, has a population of 5.873 (2009) inhabitants. The main village is Isla Mayor, about 45 km south west of Sevilla, The small village of Poblado de Alfonso XIII is in the same municipality. Isla Mayor separated from the municipality of Puebla del Rio in 1994.
