Turumtaykul

Turumtaykul, also spelt Turumtaikul, is a freshwater, mountain valley lake in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, in the south-east of the Central Asian nation of Tajikstan, about 110 km east of the provincial capital of Khorugh. Lying in the Pamir Mountains at 4202 m above sea level, it is 7 km long, 2 km wide, and has an area of 900 ha with a maximum depth of 18 m. The most numerous fish in the lake are Sattar Snowtrout and False Osman. It forms part of the Djavshangoz Important Bird Area.

Djavshangoz Important Bird Area

The Djavshangoz Important Bird Area, also spelt Dzhavshangoz, is a 345 km tract of land in southern Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province in the eastern part of the Central Asian nation of Tajikstan. It has been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA).
