Kamianets-Podilskyi

Kamyanets-Podilsky (see Nomenclature section below for more names) is a city on the Smotrych River in western Ukraine, to the north-east of Chernivtsi. Formerly the administrative center of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, the city is now the administrative center of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Raion within the Khmelnytsky Oblast, after the administrative center of the oblast was moved from the city of Kamyanets-Podilsky to the city of Khmelnytskyi in 1941.

National Environmental Park "Podilski Tovtry"

National Nature Park "Podilski Tovtry" (Ukrainian: Націона́льний приро́дний парк «Поді́льські То́втри») is a national park, located in the Horodok, Kamianets-Podilskyi, and the Chemerivtsi Raions of Khmelnytskyi Oblast in southern region of the western Ukraine. It is the biggest nature conservation area in Ukraine.

Siege of Kamenets

The Siege of Kamenets or Kamianets was laid by the Ottoman Empire in what is now Ukraine in 1672. Kamenets or Kamaniche, known as the "key to Podolia", had heavy fortifications and a substantial garrison of about 1500 soldiers (Poles, Ukrainians and Lithuanians). The Ottoman army was under command of Köprülü Fazıl Ahmed Pasha and numbered 150 thousand soldiers with reinforcements from the army of Tatars, Moldavians, Wallachians and Cossacks.

Okopy, Ternopil Oblast

Okopy is a village (selo) in western Ukraine. It is located in the Borshchiv Raion of the Ternopil Oblast, and had its origins as a Polish fortress at the meeting of the Zbruch and Dniester rivers. The current estimated population is around 557 (as of 2005).
