Hermanivka

Hermanivka is a small town in the Obukhiv Raion south of Kiev, in central Ukraine. The Chervona River flows through the town on its way to confluence with the Dnieper. Hermanivka's history extends back some 900 years. Vasylkiv (air base)

Vasylkiv (also Vasyl'kiv and Vasil'kov) is an interceptor aircraft base since the Cold War in Kiev Oblast, Ukraine located 7 km north of Vasylkiv. It is a medium-sized fighter base with numerous revetments. Units stationed at Vasylkiv include the 146th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment (146 Gv IAP) flying 41 MiG-25PD (Foxbat) aircraft. The regiment arrived at the base in 1950.
