Merheleva Ridge

Merheleva Ridge (Ukrainian: Мергелева гряда, also transliterated Mergeleva) is the site of an Eneolithic temple and burial complex consisting primarily of four large stone mounds or kurgans situated near Perevalsk, Luhansk oblast, Ukraine, about 30 km to the west-to-southwest of the city of Luhansk. It was built in about 4000 BC, corresponding to the Dnieper-Donets or early Yamna culture, and remained in use throughout the Bronze Age and well into the Iron Age, until 5th century BC Sarmatia.

Luhansk

Luhansk (formerly Voroshilovgrad) also known as Lugansk is a city in southeastern Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Luhansk Oblast. The city itself is also designated as its own separate municipality within the oblast. The current estimated population is around 445,900 (as of 2004).

The University of Luhansk (officially Taras Shevchenko National University of Luhansk, often referred to as LNU), located in Luhansk, Ukraine, is the oldest university in Donbas region and has a reputation as one of Ukraine's most prestigious universities. U of Luhansk grew out of an association of professors in the city of Luhansk that was formed by the Soviet authorities as Teachers' Training Institute in 1921.
