Seret River

About the eponymous river in Lviv Oblast, see Seret River (Drohobych). The Seret River is the left tributary of the Dniester that flows through the Ternopil Oblast of Ukraine. Its length is 242 km; the basin covers some 3900 km. The towns of Ternopil, Terebovlia and Chortkiv sit along the river's banks. Some of the bloodiest fighting of the Great War took place on the banks of the Seret.

Optymistychna Cave

Optymistychna is a gypsum cave located near the Ukrainian village of Korolivka, Borschiv Raion, Ternopil Oblast. As of 2005, it has 230 km of mapped passageways and is the longest cave in Eurasia. Some other sources say it has about 133 miles (214 km) of surveyed passageways, making it the fourth-longest cave in the world, after Mammoth Cave, Jewel Cave and Sistema Ox Bel Ha. It is also the longest gypsum cave in the world.

Zalischyky

Zalischyky is a small city located on the Dniester River in the southern part of the Ternopil Oblast, in western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Zalishchytskyi Raion. The current estimated population is around 10,100 (as of 2001).

Priest's Grotto

Priest's Grotto is a cave in western Ukraine near the village of Strilkivtsi, located within the Borshchiv Raion (District) of the Ternopil Oblast (Province). Priest's Grotto is part of the extensive gypsum giant cave system, and is one of the longest caves in the world with over 124 kilometres of explored passages. It is about 450 kilometers driving distance southwest of Kiev, and about 5.5 kilometers south of the district seat of Borshchiv.
