Husiatyn

Husiatyn is a town in the Ternopil Oblast of western Ukraine. Alternate spellings include Gusyatin, Husyatin, and Hsiatyn. Husiatyn is the administrative center of the Husiatyn Raion, and is located on the west bank of the Zbruch River. This river formed the old boundary between Austria-Hungary and the Russian Empire in the nineteenth century, and the boundary between the Republic of Poland and the Soviet Union during the inter-war period of the twentieth century.

Skala-Podilska or Skala on the River Zbrucz is a town in Ukraine. It was, at one time, named simply "Skala. " ("Skala" means "cliff" in Russian and Polish. ) To distinguish itself from another town with that same name, the town compounded its name, variously, to "Skala on the River Zbrucz," "Skala Podilska" (in Ukrainian), and "Skala Podolskaya" (in Russian).
