Monastyryska

Monastyryska is a town in Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine. It is administrative center of the Monastyryska Raion. Population is 6,344 (2001). The town is situated on the river Koropets, 15 km from Buchach, 140 km south east from Lviv, on the road between Berezhany and Ivano-Frankivsk. The river Koropets forms a wide lake. Monasteryska borders Hryhoriv and Bertnyky on the east, Ozekhiv on the south, Vycholky and Stara Huta on the west, Nova Huta, Shveykiv and Kovalivka on the north.

Zavaliv

Zavaliv is a village (formerly a town) in the western part of Pidhaitsi Raion of Ternopil Oblast of western Ukraine. Until 1990 Zavaliv belonged to Berezhany Raion. The village is situated on the right bank of Zolota Lypa (stands for "Golden Lime Tree") river, 18 km away from the district center of Pidhaitsi. Hamlet Kamiana Hora was united with the village. Due to the resettlement of people, hamlet Zamche was removed from the registration data.

Zarvanytsia

Zarvanytsia is a small village in the Eparchy of Ternopil-Zboriv. It has just over 300 citizens and is located in the Terebovlia region of Ternopil oblast in the west of Ukraine, about 20 km SW from Terebovlia, 22 km N of Buchach and 18 km SE of Pidhaitsi, within an oxbow loop of the Strypa River at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:49|13|N|25|22|E|type:city(300)_region:UA-61|| |primary |name= }}.

Battle of Podhajce (1698)

Battle of Podhajce took place on 8–9 September 1698 near Podhajce in Ruthenian Voivodship during the Great Turkish War. 6000-strong Polish army under Field Crown Hetman Feliks Kazimierz Potocki repelled a 14,000 man Tatar expedition under Kaplan-Girey. Lack of sufficient number of light cavalry on the Polish side prevented a successful pursuit of Tatars and their captives.
