The station stands between two level crossings: in Hoscar Moss Road and Frog Lane. 2,070 passengers used the station in 2004-5. 8 trains a day call on weekdays in each direction. New Lane railway station serves the rural communities and farming villages around New Lane in West Lancashire, in the north-west of England. It is served and managed by Northern Rail and is situated near the Martin Mere bird sanctuary, which can be reached by a 1 mile walk. Trains run to Southport and Manchester Victoria via Wigan Wallgate every two hours. The odd Southport to Manchester Airport train calls at New Lane at certain times of the day.
