West Lancashire Light Railway

The West Lancashire Light Railway operates at Hesketh Bank, situated between Preston and Southport in North West England. The Railway is narrow gauge 24 and has a running length of 430 yards . The full line is longer than this however it follows a ledge above the old clay pit which is narrow enough to prohibit the building of a run round loop. An extension is planned.

River Lostock

The River Lostock is a river in Lancashire, England. The source of the Lostock is at the confluence of Slack Brook and Whave's Brook at the entrance to Miller Wood near Withnell Fold. Slack Brook drains an area around Brindle, having its source close to Thorpe Green just outside the village, whereas Whave's Brook rises near Brimmicroft and runs southwards, almost parallel to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal by Ollerton Fold.

Croston railway station

Croston railway station serves the small village of Croston, near Chorley in Lancashire, England, the station is on the Ormskirk branch line. This line was cut back with the railway restructuring of the 1960s and 1970s, and only a single DMU operates over the line, shuttling from end to end to provide a train approximately every ninety minutes each way on weekdays (there being no Sunday service).
