Dove Holes railway station

Dove Holes railway station serves the village of Dove Holes, Derbyshire, England. The station is on the Manchester Piccadilly to Buxton line 22+⁄4 miles south east of Piccadlly. It is managed and served by Northern Rail who took over the station from First North Western. It was opened in 1863 by the LNWR at the summit of its line between Whaley Bridge and Buxton.

The Bull Ring

The Bull Ring is a Class II henge that was built in the late Neolithic period near Dove Holes in Derbyshire, England. It has coordinates {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:53.300695|N|1.884423|W||||| | |name= }}, and is National Monument number 23282. There are also two barrows about 20m away from the henge; one oval, one bowl.

Dove Holes Tunnel

Dove Holes Tunnel is a tunnel built by the Midland Railway between Peak Forest Signal Box and Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire. In the mid-nineteenth century, the Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midlands Junction Railway was jointly leased by the LNWR and Midland Railway, and ran as far as Rowsley. The Midland wished to extend to Manchester to give it a service to London but the LNWR, having its own London line, declined.
