A35 road

The A35 is a trunk road in southern England, running from Honiton in Devon, that then passes through Dorset and terminates in Southampton, Hampshire. It originally ran from Exeter to Southampton, however the original A35 ran along what is now the A3052 and would join the present A35 at Charmouth.

Combe Raleigh

Combe Raleigh is a village in the county of Devon, England. It is about 1.5 miles north of the town of Honiton. The word 'Combe' is of Celtic origin meaning 'valley' (the same as cwm) whilst the name 'Raleigh' comes from the Raleigh family's ownership of the village in the thirteenth century. The 15th century parish church (St. Nicholas) has three bells and its minister is shared with the nearby village of Awliscombe. The village has no shops.

Fairmile, Devon

For the boat builder, see Fairmile Marine Fairmile is a hamlet in the English county of Devon. It lies on the former A30 trunk road approximately 6 miles west of Honiton, where this road crosses the Talaton to Ottery St Mary road, in the valley of the River Tale. Fairmile belongs partly to the civil parish of Talaton and partly to that of Ottery St Mary. The hamlet consists of a handful of houses, including the Fairmile Inn (now closed), a boarding cattery (Fairmile Cat Hotel est.

Tumbling Weir

The Tumbling Weir is a circular weir in the town of Ottery St. Mary, Devon, England that allows water from a leat or man-made stream to reach the River Otter. It is apparently a rare design in that the water enters through a circular opening at the top that is surrounded by the stream. The water then cascades down some more smaller rings until it enters a culvert which enters a tunnel under the nearby path before sluicing down to the river a few metres away.
