Dunragit

Dunragit is a village on the A75, between Stranraer and Glenluce at Old Luce, Wigtownshire, in Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland. The village grew up around the west gate of Dunragit House, an 18th century three-storey four-bay country house. Glenluce Abbey

Glenluce Abbey, near to Glenluce, Wigtownshire, Scotland, was a Cistercian monastery called also Abbey of Luce or Vallis Lucis and founded around 1190 by Rolland or Lochlann, Lord of Galloway and Constable of Scotland. Following the Scottish Reformation in 1560, the abbey fell into disuse. George Chalmers "Caledonia" vol. III, p. 441, printed 1824, - Old Luce, and New Luce, parishes were formerly comprehended, in one extensive parish, called Glenluce.
