Bennane Head
Bennane Head is a tapering piece of land projecting into the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. Its headland extends into the Firth of Clyde at the northern end of Ballantrae Bay, 17 kilometres southwest of Girvan. A 200-metre-deep cave near Bennane Head is said to be the place, where the cannibal Sawney Bean and his family lived in the 15th century.

Colmonell is a small village in the Stinchar Valley, South Ayrshire. The nearest town is Girvan, ten miles away. The River Stinchar runs through the valley and the Colmonell area boasts three ruined castles: Craigneil Castle (thirteenth century), Kirkhill Castle (sixteenth century) and Knockdolian Castle (sixteenth century). The village has a small primary school, pub, fire station and village church. With a small population, Colmonell is a close community.

River Stinchar
The River Stinchar is a river in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It flows south west from the Galloway Forest Park to enter the Firth of Clyde at Ballantrae, about 20 km south south east of Ailsa Craig. It is reputed poet Robert Burns fished the river, and despite being impressed by its beauty, was unable to find words to rhyme with the name.
