Cor Tewdws

Cor Tewdws or Bangor Tewdws (College of Theodosius) was a monastery and school in what is now Llantwit Major, Glamorgan, Wales. It was a primary learning center of Britain until the Norman conquest, after which point the English schools surpassed it. It was finally closed down by Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Named for the Roman Emperor Theodosius I, by whom it is said to have been established, it was one of the earliest schools in Britain.

Llantwit Major railway station

Llantwit Major railway station is a railway station serving the small town of Llantwit Major, South Wales. It is located on the Vale of Glamorgan Line, 18+⁄4 miles west of Cardiff Central towards Bridgend via Barry and Rhoose. The present station opened on 12 June 2005, when passenger services were restored on the section of line between Barry and Bridgend. Passenger services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales as part of the Valley Lines network.

Llanilltud Fawr School

Llanilltud Fawr School is a school in the town of Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan, on the coast of south Wales. The school consists of a separate primary and secondary school which are located on the same site. A large section of the comprehensive was burned to the ground in 1991 and rebuilt a year later. A further rebuild was scheduled to begin 2011/2012 but was scrapped to due lack of funding. On average the number of pupils is between 1,200 and 1,600 at any given time.

Llantwit Major Roman Villa

The Llantwit Major Roman Villa was a Roman L-shaped courtyard villa located at what is now Caermead, immediately north of the town of Llantwit Major in the Welsh county of South Glamorgan. The villa was first discovered in 1887 and was fully excavated in 1938-9 and 1948. There was another excavation in 1971. The site may have been occupied in the late Iron Age. The first stone structure was erected in the 2nd century.
