Edison Middle School

Edison Middle School is a public middle school in Kern County, California. The school is located in the small town of Edison, at the corner of Edison Hwy. and Edison Rd, just outside Bakersfield, California. The school is part of the Edison School District. Edison serves students in the 5th grade through the 8th grade. Most students arrive at Edison from the elementary school Orangewood, the second school in the Edison District.

Edison Oil Field

The Edison Oil Field is a large oil field in Kern County, California, in the United States, in the southeastern part of the San Joaquin Valley and adjacent foothills east-southeast of Bakersfield. The field has a total productive area of over 8,000 acres, most of which is intermingled with agricultural land uses; oil pumps and storage tanks are surrounded with row crops and orchards in much of the field's extent.

Foothill High School (Bakersfield, California)

Their Speech and Debate team won the State Championship (small schools) in 2004. In 2003, Foothill had the league record of sending 7 students to the National Championships. Their FFA Advanced Parliamentary Procedure Team won a National Championship at the National FFA Convention in October 2007. Mesa Marin Raceway

Mesa Marin Raceway was half-mile (0.8 km) oval speedway located in Bakersfield, California and hosted the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series from 1995 and 2003. The track was owned and operated by Gary Collins. In 2005, the track was demolished after an ownership change to developers. A replacement track, co-owned between Dan Smith and James Vernon, is currently under construction.

Eastside Canal

Eastside Canal is an irrigation canal in Kern County, California. It originates from a common diversion at Manor Street in Bakersfield, which also serves the Carrier Canal and Kern Island Canal. The common diversion originates from the Kern River, about 1 mile south of Gordon's Ferry. The canal terminates south of Bear Mountain Bolivard, just west of Arvin. From the common diversion, the canal travels south, roughly parallel to the Kern Island Canal.
