Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) is a California State Prison. It was opened in June 1987 and covers 866 acres located in Ione, California. Rancho Arroyo Seco (Yorba)

Rancho Arroyo Seco was a 48,857-acre Mexican land grant in present day Amador County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to Teodocio Yorba. The name means "dry creek". The grant east of Sacramento encompassed present day Ione.

Carbondale, California

Carbondale (formerly, Buckeye) is an unincorporated community in Amador County, California. It is located 6 miles northwest of Ione on the Southern Pacific Railroad, at an elevation of 223 feet (68 m). The place's early economy was related to coal mining and shipment. A post office operated at Carbondale from 1922 to 1955. Currently, only one residence remains in the general area of the town. Other than the remains of a school house, no other structures exist.
