Pine Valley Creek Bridge

The Pine Valley Creek Bridge, also known as Nello Irwin Greer Memorial Bridge, is a reinforced concrete box girder bridge in San Diego County, California, built in 1974 as part of the Interstate 8 freeway system. At the time of its construction, it was the first bridge constructed in the United States using the segmental balanced cantilever method. The bridge rises 450 feet above the valley floor, and is over 1,700 feet long.

Pine Valley, California

Pine Valley is a community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Mountain Empire area of southeastern San Diego County, California. The population was 1,510 at the 2010 census, up from 1,501 at the 2000 census.

Cuyamaca, California

Cuyamaca is a region of eastern San Diego County. It lies east of the Capitan Grande Indian Reservation in the western Laguna Mountains, north of Descanso and south of Julian. Named for the 1845 Rancho Cuyamaca Mexican land grant, the region is now dominated by the 26,000 acres Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Within the park is the prominent Cuyamaca Peak, the second-highest mountain in San Diego County at 6,512 feet . In 1889 Cuyamaca Dam was completed, creating Cuyamaca Reservoir.

Mount Laguna Observatory

Mount Laguna Observatory (MLO) is an astronomical observatory owned by San Diego State University (SDSU) and operated in partnership with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). MLO is located approximately 75 kilometers east of downtown San Diego, California (USA) on the eastern edge of the Cleveland National Forest in the Laguna Mountains and near the hamlet of Mount Laguna.

Viejas Casino and Hotel is a hotel casino and outlet center owned by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, located in Alpine, California. The casino has 2,000 slot machines, up to 86 table games, four restaurants, a deli, bingo, an off-track betting facility, lounge, concert venues and a poker room. Viejas serves alcohol in its casino. The hotel opened in March 2013 has 128 rooms.
