Bonita Falls

Bonita Falls is a set of waterfalls in the San Bernardino National Forest, formed by Bonita Creek, that is said to be 370 or 400 feet in height, but possibly up to 495 feet high because of two undocumented drops in the canyon above. It is the second tallest in the national forest, being surpassed only by 500-foot Big Falls. These two waterfalls are reputably the tallest in southern California.

San Sevaine Flats

San Sevaine Flats is a small area of flatland east of Cucamonga Peak in the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County, California. The area is in the Cucamonga Wilderness in the San Bernardino National Forest, 1.24 miles south of Bonita Falls on South Fork Lytle Creek and north of Rancho Cucamonga, California. It has an elevation of 1,690 meters, or 5,545 feet.

Cucamonga Peak

Cucamonga Peak is one of the highest peaks in the San Gabriel Mountains of California. The area is in the Cucamonga Wilderness on the San Bernardino National Forest. Named for Tiburcio Tapia's Rancho Cucamonga, the mountain towers over the present-day cities of Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and Fontana. The peak can be seen west of Cajon Pass on Interstate 15, the route from Southern California to Las Vegas.

Cajon Pass

Cajon Pass is a mountain pass between the San Bernardino Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains in southern California in the United States. It was created by the movements of the San Andreas Fault. The Mojave Desert pass is an important link from the Greater San Bernardino Area to the Victor Valley, and northeast to Las Vegas. Cajon Pass is at the head of Horsethief Canyon, traversed by California State Route 138 (SR 138) and railroad tracks owned by BNSF Railway and Union Pacific Railroad.

2006 Mercy Air Bell 412 crash

The 2006 Mercy Air helicopter accident occurred on December 10, 2006, about 1755 Pacific standard time, when a Bell 412SP helicopter, call sign "Mercy Air 2," impacted mountainous terrain near Hesperia, California and the Cajon Pass. The commercial helicopter pilot and two medical crew members were killed and the helicopter was destroyed, by the impact and post impact fire. On July 30, 2008, the National Transportation Safety Board released its probable cause report on the accident.
