Sherwin Summit
Sherwin Summit (el. 6,426 feet, 1,959 m) is a mountain pass on U.S. Highway 395. It is located south of Tom's Place and Crowley Lake in the eastern part of the Sierra Nevada range. South of the summit, the road starts on its long 2,400 foot (610 m) descent into the 4,000 ft high Owens Valley. The Owens River generally follows the road from this summit through the Owens Valley.

Owens River Gorge
The Owens River Gorge is a steep 10 mi (16 km) canyon on the upper Owens River in eastern California in the United States. The canyon is located at the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains in southern Mono County, along the stretch of the river where it exits the Long Valley near its source and enters the north end of Owens Valley. The gorge is a popular destination for rock climbing.

Casa Diablo, California
Casa Diablo is a location in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Mono County, eastern California, USA. Casa Diablo Hot Springs was named “House of the Devil”, by early explorers, for it’s boiling hot springs, rising steam and geysers. This locale is noted as a Native American mining and manufacturing site specializing in obsidian materials. Use of materials from this site is noted at least as early as the Millingstone Horizon. The coastal Chumash people traded for material from this Obsidian source.
