St. Andrew's Abbey is a male Benedictine monastery of the Congregation of the Annunciation located in Valyermo, California. In 1929, St. Andrew's Abbey in Bruges, Belgium founded St. Andrew's Priory in China and until 1953, the monks of the Priory conducted missionary work among the people of China. Kratka Ridge
Kratka Ridge or Snowcrest is a skiable area on Waterman Mountain in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County, California. Located 36 miles northeast of La Cañada and Pasadena along the Angeles Crest Highway, it reaches a height of 7515 feet (2,291 m). The area featured two chair lifts and a rope tow, had a total of 13 runs with a vertical drop of approximately 750 feet (230 m). Trail difficulty can be rated as 30% beginner, 30% intermediate, and 40% advanced.

Mount Islip
Mount Islip (pronounced eye-slip) is a 8,250-foot peak in the Angeles National Forest. On a clear day the sharp, high peak provides impressive views of the Mojave Desert, the Los Angeles Basin, Santa Catalina Island, and San Clemente Island. A trailhead for climbing Mount Islip is located at Islip Saddle, along the Angeles Crest Highway, approximately 53 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. Another trailhead is at the Crystal Lake Recreation Area, north of Azusa.
