Calvary Cemetery, East Los Angeles

Calvary Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery operated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, which is located in the East Los Angeles neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles, California. It is also called "New Calvary Cemetery" because the graves in the original Calvary Cemetery on North Broadway were moved to the present location to make way for Cathedral High School.

Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles

Evergreen Memorial Park & Crematory is a cemetery in the East Side neighborhood of Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, California. Evergreen has several prominent individuals of historical Southern California on its grounds. Many pioneers are interred here, names such as Bixby, Coulter, Hollenbeck, Lankershim, Van Nuys, and Workman. There are politicians, notably former Mayors of Los Angeles. The Garden of the Pines section of the cemetery is a memorial to Japanese Issei pioneers.

Boyle Heights, Los Angeles

Boyle Heights is a neighborhood east of Downtown Los Angeles on the East Side of Los Angeles. For much of the twentieth century, Boyle Heights was a gateway for new immigrants. This resulted in diverse demographics, including Jewish American, Japanese American and Mexican American populations, as well as Russian American and Yugoslav populations. Today, the neighborhood is populated mostly by working class Latinos.

East Los Angeles, California

East Los Angeles (often shortened to East L.A. or East Los or in Spanish El Este de Los Ángeles) is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is located immediately east of the Boyle Heights district of the City of Los Angeles, which is the eastern edge of the City in this area; hence the name "East L.A.
