Rabun Gap–Nacoochee School (informally known as Rabun Gap) is a small, private college preparatory school located in Rabun County, Georgia in the Appalachian Mountains. It is both a boarding and a day school. It is notable for initiating the Foxfire magazine project in 1966, experiential education based on interviewing local people, and writing and publishing articles about their stories and oral traditions. This inspired numerous schools across the country to develop similar programs.

Estatoah Falls
Estatoah Falls are located on Mud Creek in Rabun County, Georgia. The falls are located on private property and are not open to the public. The falls may be viewed from several places along State Route 246. There are also some smaller falls (about 100 feet) near Sky Valley, Georgia called Little Estatoah Falls or Mud Creek falls. Estatoah Falls drop several hundred feet in several dramatic cascades. The name of the falls is from the name of a Cherokee Indian village.
