Hualālai

Hualālai (in Hawaiian) is a dormant shield volcano on the island of Hawaiʻi in the Hawaiian Islands. It is the third-youngest and the third most active of the five volcanoes that form the island of Hawaiʻi, following Kīlauea and the much larger Mauna Loa, and also the westernmost. Its peak is 8,271 feet above sea level. Hualālai is estimated to have risen above sea level about 300,000 years ago.

Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area

Hāpuna Beach State Recreation Area is a large park and sandy beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is also located adjacent to the beach. Hāpuna (literally, "spring" or "pool" in Hawaiian) is popular with residents and visitors. This is one of a few other white sand beaches on the west coast of the Big Island. The few others include Kua Bay, Kaunaʻoa Bay, known as Mauna Kea Beach, and Samuel M. Spencer Beach Park.
