Submillimeter Array
The Submillimeter Array (SMA) consists of eight 6-metre diameter radio telescopes arranged as an interferometer for submillimeter wavelength observations. It is the first purpose-built submillimeter interferometer, constructed after successful interferometry experiments using the pre-existing 15-metre James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and 10.4-metre Caltech Submillimeter Observatory as an interferometer.

Subaru Telescope is the 8.2 metre flagship telescope of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, located at the Mauna Kea Observatory on Hawaii. It is named after the open star cluster known in English as the Pleiades. It had the largest monolithic primary mirror in the world from its commission until 2005.

James Clerk Maxwell Telescope
The James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) is a submillimetre-wavelength telescope at Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii. Its primary mirror is 15 metres (16.4 yards) across: it is the largest astronomical telescope that operates in submillimetre wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. Scientists use it to study our Solar System, interstellar dust and gas, and distant galaxies. JCMT will be shutdown at the end of 2014, if a new operator is not found.
