Calcasieu River

The Calcasieu River (KAL-kuh-shoo) is a river on the Gulf Coast in southwestern Louisiana. Approximately 200 miles long, it drains a largely rural area of forests and bayou country, meandering southward to the Gulf of Mexico. The name "Calcasieu" comes from the Native American Atakapa language katkosh, for "eagle", and yok, "to cry". Its historical Spanish name was Arroyo Hondo ("Deep Stream").

Owned by Calcasieu Parish, the airport serves approximately 375,000 people in the Lake Charles – Jennings combined statistical area. The airport has two runways. They are oriented 5/23 and 15/33 and do not cross.

Prien Lake

Prien Lake is a lake that is connected to the Calcasieu River, which flows through the city of Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA). The Interstate 210 bridge crosses over the lake, which is just southwest of Lake Charles. The lake is home to a small beach near Interstate 10.
