Shepard State Park
Shepard State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is located off U.S. Highway 90 at Gautier, west of Pascagoula. Gautier, Mississippi
Gautier is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi, along the Gulf of Mexico west of Pascagoula. It is part of the Pascagoula, Mississippi Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 18,572 at the 2010 census. In 2002, Gautier annexed land nearly doubling its population to 18,413, according to the Gautier Comprehensive Plan 2030. Locally, the name is pronounced as "GO-chay. " Descendants of the Gautier family, for whom it was named, still live in the area.

Pascagoula Abduction
The Pascagoula Abduction occurred in 1973 when co-workers Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker claimed that they were abducted by aliens while fishing near Pascagoula, Mississippi. The case earned substantial mass media attention, and is, along with the earlier Hill Abduction, among the best-known claims of alien abduction.
