Arthur Morgan School

Arthur Morgan School (AMS) is a small, coed boarding and day school for 27 students in grades 7, 8 and 9 . AMS is located on 100 acres of farm and wilderness in the Celo Community, about an hour north of Asheville, North Carolina. The AMS program focuses on the holistic education of adolescents. In addition to the academic program, the school has an outdoor program including 3-, 6- and 8-day hikes.

Mount Craig (North Carolina)

Mount Craig, 6,647 feet, is the second highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains and second only to 6,684 feet Mount Mitchell in eastern North America. It is located in the Black Mountains in Yancey County, North Carolina. The mountain lies just north of Mt. Mitchell and is within Mount Mitchell State Park and the Pisgah National Forest.

Murphy Branch

The historically important Murphy Branch is the western most part of what was the Western North Carolina Railroad, later the Richmond and Danville, Southern Railway and today the Norfolk Southern Railway. The branch runs between Asheville, North Carolina in the east and Andrews in the west. It roughly follows Interstate 40 and the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway. The railroad branch was constructed with convict labor between 1881 and 1894.
