Salem Sue

Salem Sue (or The World's Largest Holstein Cow) is a large fiberglass Holstein cow sculpture located in New Salem, North Dakota. Salem Sue was built in 1974 for $40,000. The project was sponsored by the New Salem Lions Club in honor of the local dairy farming industry. The statue stands 38 feet high and is 50 feet long. It sits on School Hill near Interstate 94 off exit 127 S and can be viewed for several miles. A road leads up to the base of Sue.

New Salem is a city in Morton County, North Dakota in the United States. It is part of the "Bismarck, ND Metropolitan Statistical Area" or "Bismarck-Mandan". The population was 946 at the 2010 census. New Salem was founded in 1883.
