Maury Island
Maury Island is a small island in Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington. It is connected to Vashon Island by an isthmus built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Before construction of the isthmus, the island was connected to Vashon only during low tide. The island is rural with large areas of excellent farmland, forest, and relatively undeveloped shoreline. Vashon, Washington
Vashon is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States. It covers an island alternately called Vashon Island or Vashon-Maury Island, the largest island in Puget Sound south of Admiralty Inlet. The population was 10,624 at the 2010 census. At 37 square miles, it is about 60 percent larger in area than Manhattan, with about 1/150 the population.

Vashon Island High School
Vashon Island High School (VHS) is a public high school located on Vashon Island, Washington. Vashon Island High School is the only high school to serve the island. VHS runs 9th through 12th grade. The school has two language courses available: Japanese and Spanish. VHS puts on three plays a year within the three drama classes; Theater Arts I, II and Musical Theater. The school's athletic mascot is the Pirates. Currently VHS has an enrollment of 518 students and 44 faculty and staff.
