Koh Band District

Koh Band District is situated in the northwestern part of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It borders Kohistan District to the west, Parvan Province to the north, Nejrab District to the east and Mahmud Raqi District to the south. The population is 20,800(2006). The district center is Hajjikheyl located in the western part of the district.

Ghorband River

The Ghorband is a river of Afghanistan, flowing through Parwan Province. It is a tributary of the Panjshir River, then a sub-tributary of the Indus River, then the Kabul River. The Ghorband runs entirely in Parwan province, where it gave its name to the Ghorband District. It is born in the eastern Shibar Pass (which connects the provinces of Parwan and Bamyan, or watersheds of the Ghorband and Kunduz River) and passes in an eastbound direction which it maintains hroughout most of its course.

Alasay

The village of Alasay (Alah Say) is the center of Alasay District in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It is located on {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:34.8958|N|69.7208|E||||| | |name= }} at 1672 m altitude. The Battle of Alasay, codenamed Operation Dinner Out, was a military operation in Alasay which was carried out by French troops and the Afghan National Army (ANA) between the 14th and 23rd of March 2009. It left one French soldier killed, as well as 35 to 70 Taliban insurgents.
