Koh Band District

Koh Band District is situated in the northwestern part of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It borders Kohistan District to the west, Parvan Province to the north, Nejrab District to the east and Mahmud Raqi District to the south. The population is 20,800(2006). The district center is Hajjikheyl located in the western part of the district.

Panjshir Valley

The Panjshir Valley is a valley in north-central Afghanistan, 150 km north of Kabul, near the Hindu Kush mountain range. Located in the Panjshir Province it is divided by the Panjshir River. The valley is home to more than 140,000 people, including Afghanistan's largest concentration of ethnic Tajiks. As of April 2004, it became the heart of Panjshir Province.
