Mmopane is a village in the Kweneng District of Botswana. The village is located around 15 km from Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. The population was 3,512 in 2001 census and 14,655 at the 2011 census. It's now part of Gaborone agglomeration home to 421,907 inhabitants at the 2011 census.

1999 Air Botswana incident

The 1999 Air Botswana incident occurred when Chris Phatswe, a Botswanan airline pilot, committed suicide by crashing a plane into the tarmac and a group of aircraft at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone, Botswana. His actions effectively crippled operations for Air Botswana.

Botswana College of Agriculture

Botswana College of Agriculture (BCA) is an agricultural college located in Gaborone, Botswana. It was established by an act of the Parliament of Botswana, Act no. 9, on 31 May 1991. The Act abolished the then Botswana Agricultural College (BAC) which had existed since 1967. The College is a parastatal under the Ministry of Agriculture and an associate Institution of the University of Botswana.

Three Dikgosi Monument

The Three Dikgosi Monument is a bronze sculpture located in the Central Business District of Gaborone, Botswana. The statues depict three dikgosi (tribal chiefs): Khama III of the Bangwato, Sebele I of the Bakwena, and Bathoen I of the Bangwaketse. Events are held at the monument such as the 2008 Miss Independence Botswana. A study conducted between January and August 2007 shows that the monument is the most visited tourist destination in Gaborone.
