Provadiya River

The Provadiya River (Провадийска река, Provadiyska reka, taking its name from the town of Provadiya) is a river in northeastern Bulgaria. It is 119 km long and has a drainage basin of 2,132 km². The river takes its source from close to the village of Dobri Voynikovo in Shumen Province, flowing southeast and then making a sharp turn northeast to empty into Lake Devnya at Devnya. It is part of the Black Sea drainage area, as Lake Devnya is connected to Lake Varna and it to the Black Sea.

Venets Transmitter

Venets Transmitter is a facility for FM and TV-broadcasting near Venets and Samuil in Shumen Province in Bulgaria. Venets Transmitter uses as antenna tower a 302 metre tall guyed lattice steel mast with rectangular cross section. This mast, which was built in 1975 is the tallest radio mast at Bulgaria. The TV transmitter, which used it as antenna, is the most powerful TV transmitter in Bulgaria with 50 kW.

Ludogorie

The Ludogorie (Bulgarian: Лудогорие, usually used with a definite article, Лудогорието, Ludogorieto) or Deliorman, all meaning "region of wild forests", is a region in northeastern Bulgaria stretching over the plateau of the same name. Major cities in the region are Razgrad, Novi Pazar, Pliska and Isperih.

Hitrino

Hitrino is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Shumen Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Hitrino Municipality, which lies in the northwestern part of Shumen Province. Hitrino is located in the northeastern Ludogorie, equally outlying from the Black Sea and the Danube, 20 kilometres from the provincial capital of Shumen. The village is a railway station on the Varna-Rousse line and lies on the main road between Silistra and Shumen.

Samuil (village)

Samuil is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Razgrad Province, located in the geographic region of Ludogorie. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Samuil Municipality, which lies in the southeastern part of the Province. As of December 2009, the village has a population of 1,543 inhabitants. Samuil lies among the Samuil Heights in the Ludogorie Plateau, near the second highest hill in the Danubian Plain (501 metres). The population consists of Bulgarians, Turks and Roma.
