Gribskov Kommune is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 278 km², and has a total population of 40,512 (2008). Its mayor as of 2010 is Jan Ferdinandsen, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party.

Helsinge, Denmark
Helsinge is the municipal seat of Gribskov municipality in Region Hovedstaden on Zealand in Denmark with a population of 7,881 (1 January 2011). The town was years ago elected the ugliest town in Denmark by a journalist from national television, Peter Olesen, which is why among its inhabitants it have the popular name Hæslinge (Hæslig=ugly).
