Aggersund
Aggersund is a town and harbour with a population of 354 (1 January 2012) in the Himmerland region of the Jutland peninsula of Denmark. At Aggersund HVDC Cross-Skagerak crosses the strait of same name on 70 metres tall pylons. Aggersborg, the largest of Denmark's former Viking ring castles, is located near Aggersund.

Thorup
Thorup (or Torup) is the name of at least 13 villages and towns in Denmark, and is also used as a surname. The name Thorup ends on "rup" (rup, strup, torp, and drup are all descended from an old Scandinavian designation for a group of houses), which means that it originates from the late Viking Age, circa AD 1000.

Aggersborg
Aggersborg is the largest of Denmark's former Viking ring castles, and one of the largest archeological sites in Denmark. It is located near Aggersund on the north side of the Limfjord. It consisted of a circular rampart surrounded by a ditch. Four main roads arranged in a cross connected the castle centre with the outer ring. The roads were tunnelled under the outer rampart, leaving the circular structure intact. The ring castle had an inner diameter of 240 metres.
