Faaborg-Midtfyn or Fåborg-Midtfyn is a municipality in Region of Southern Denmark in Denmark. It covers an area of 638 km² and a total population of 51,950 (2008). On 1 January 2007 Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality was created as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), consisting of the former municipalities of Broby, Ringe, Aarslev, Ryslinge, and Faaborg.

Midtfyns Festival
Midtfyns Festival was a famous rock festival in Denmark. It was closed before the 2004 festival started, due to declining ticket sales. In the festival's heyday it was competing with Roskilde Festival to be the biggest music event in Northern Europe, mostly due to Phish's appearance at the festival in 1998. Musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughan also performed at Midtfyns (July 1, 1988). In 2005 Henrik Malmkjær acquired the rights for the festival, planning to revive it in 2006. The plan failed.

Årslev
Årslev is a town in central Denmark on the island of Funen. It was located in Årslev Municipality, until 1 January 2007 when it became part of Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality. The town has a population of 3,638 (1 January 2011). There is a train station and bus connections to Odense and Svendborg. It has two schools, which is called Sdr. Nærå Fri- og Efterskole and Bøgehøjskolen

Årslev Municipality
Årslev municipality is a former municipality in the island of Funen in central Denmark. It merged into Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality on 1 January 2007. The former municipality covered an area of 74 km², and had a total population of 9,365 (2005). It belonged to Funen County and its last mayor was Hans Jørgensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Årslev.
